Patricia is a dedicated and much-loved member of her community. Over recent years Patricia has been president of a local rotary club, organising events and raising money for world charities like water aid and shelter box. Whilst being a Women’s Institute member, and then president, she helped raise enough money from two events, to donate a defibrillator machine in the local village, as well as raising money for other local charities.
Patricia helps at her local united churches; helping to organise events to raise funds, and local council events and galas. She has helped the council with events like the 100 years of memorial in 2018. This year with her family she set up a charity; The Ruthven Trust, supporting Duchenne UK muscular dystrophy after two of her grandchildren were diagnosed with the disease.
In 2019 she has organised a Christmas craft fayre with stalls from local businesses and charities, with some of the proceeds going to The Ruthven Trust. Alongside this, she helps with the local group, Plastic Free Clowne. Patricia is already planning what events she could help with for 2020 to benefit local charities as well as the Ruthven Trust.
